So, this extension is a companion for years already and one of the first extnensions I am installing on most browsers, but recently I get more and more annoyed by the fact that id doesn't seem to offer any translation. Why? Until recently i just googled a word and in 8 out of 10 cases it showed me a translation with a couple of alternative meanings. However, I moved away from Google and big US tech in general. Currently I use Startpage as my default search engine in firefox and added a custom search engine, that sends a translation to Startpage by adding "in English" to the query, but I am not happy with this, because I often forget to enter the custom search engine word at the beginning and because Startpage only offers a single translation and no nuance.

Can I set up dictionaries in a way to also give me a simple translation for languages like German-to-English, English-to-German, Chinese-to-German/English, English/German-to-Chinese?

Please make it easier to add dictionaries yourself. All the links you shared in the main thread are broken nowadays becuase they link to https://pnlpal.dev/ instead of https://pnl.dev/.

Firstly, just want to say this is by far the best extension I've seen when it comes to finding definitions and enabling easy translations, so thank you for all that you do!

If I could provide a couple recs (and keep in mind I'm a neophyte when it comes to this stuff), it would be great if users were able to:

Select a default dictionary that is utilized when defining words outside of the double-click functionality, and Improving recognition of loanwords, especially within English dictionaries and for words that have accents present. Paradigmatic example is détente.

Again, want to reiterate that this is by far the best Language/Dictionary extension I've ever used, so thank you for your enterprise in creating something so beneficial for us.

I just downloaded this extension and was curious on how to change the default language for definitions. I'm hoping to use this tool to help look up definitions for German words, but when I double click them the definitions are in German which doesn't really help me much since I am pretty new to learning German. Was hoping there was a way to specify a default language but there doesn't seem to be an option in the settings (or I'm overlooking it).

I'm trying to learn Swedish from German primarily, so I'd like my lookup language (double-clicking a word) to also be in German, but it's in English.

Where does the lookup dictionary call its dictionary from? Even when "deleting" all other dictionaries but DE-SV, I'm getting the same Swedish-English translations.

In this video, I report a recurring bug where the top input panel disappears, particularly when using the Cambridge Dictionary website. It flickers in and out, and while closing and reopening the panel temporarily resolves the issue, it often disappears again. This seems to indicate a compatibility problem between the plugin and the website, which is quite frustrating. I would appreciate any insights or solutions from the team regarding this issue.

Defining Greek/Latin roots, stems, and prefixes found in words, along with the definition. Like: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Greek_and_Latin_roots_in_English
This may only be applicable to English?

Programming language classes and methods could also be included, using official documentation maybe?

I tested several extensions of "Reader View" category, and any of the tested plugins renders Dictionariez incapable of recognizing the selected text.
